Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) may be right for you
Another way to file electronic claims with Optum is through Electronic Data Interchange, known as EDI. This method is ideal for high volume providers who would like to submit batches of claims electronically, right out of their practice management system software. Transactions are conducted through a clearinghouse vendor and can be configured for either single-payer or multi-payer needs.
EDI services can be set up for both network and out-of-network clinicians, groups and facilities. If you are interested in EDI transactions, Optum can recommend suitable clearinghouse vendors depending on your needs. Please contact Optum via phone (1-800-765-6705) or via email (firstname.lastname@example.org) and provide the following information:
Your name and contact information (telephone and e-mail address)
Tax ID(s) and entity name,
Approximate number of Optum claims per month
Your interest in either a single or multi-payer solution.
